We decided the green background is more stricking than the white but the type needs to be developed more. Joe said it looks a bit weird how some letters are normal and some are drawn as objects which represent that job. Things to do:
• Try some posters where everything about the word is drawn and representative of that job e.g. the word 'plumber' made up entirely of pipes
• Try a poster with lots of careers listed small and one which stands out big in illustrative type - (I thought this could work well at a careers fair where you have different stalls for different careers)
• Some words work better than others so just concentrate on the good ones
• The leaflet is too wordy and not illustrative or colourful enough - remember target audience. Back could just have the website on
• If the poster is green the leaflet should also be green so it all ties together

My Supporting local shops brief is only in its first stages. I wanted to get a well good idea for it this morning and usually when i have an ideas morning, as i have termed them, i can get a good idea that ill run with, but this morning it wasn't really happening and all i could think of was bad puns to do with butchers, grocers etc. e.g. Your Butcher's livelihood is at steak. oh dear. So with nothing else coming into my head apart from these, I decided to go with it and stop resisting the puns, its obviously who i am inside. For the uber crit next week I need to:
• Come up with as many of these puns as possible (between now and Friday)
• Make my own cut-out/ hand drawn font
• Try different compositions with the type and image
• Try different colours and play around
I want them to look a bit like these sandwich bags and coasters that New Future Graphic have done. They are bright and fun and seem pretty easy to produce.
